The Rt. Rev. Thomas Church Brownell
(1799-1865)

Brownell was the Presiding Bishop of the United States and the founder of
Trinity College. His leadership of the Episcopal Church came at the time of the expansion of the denomination following the disestablishment of the Congregational Church in Connecticut.

The Brownell monument is a larger version of other Victorian archetypes and features a Christianized allegorical lady (she holds a cross) standing on a tall base.
